Integrative Medicine
“Integrative medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship and makes use of all appropriate therapies, both conventional and alternative.”
—Dr. Andrew Weil
Each of us is one of a kind—and at our practice—we believe this requires an individualized and unique treatment plan for our clients. Our therapists are knowledgeable in both modern and postmodern healing modalities, and this gives us the ability to pick from a wide range of recommendations and referrals.
Since a young age, Dr. Farin became interested in the healing powers of alternative medicine. He can recall countless memories of being outdoors and knowing that there was something very special about nature…
He remembers well a time, at the age of 18, when he was struggling with recurring acid-reflux, and both over the counter and prescription medicines were only offering temporary relief.
This challenge led Dr. Farin to ponder with the idea of healing at the core versus healing superficially. Instinctively, this took him back to his roots in natural remedies, and on a search for a systemic way of healing.
Dr. Farin was led into the realm of Chinese medicinal treatments and acupuncture. Through its guidance of lifestyle, dietary, and spiritual changes, as well as introducing natural supplements/herbs and plant medicines—Dr. Farin discovered that true healing was within reach.
Although always evolving, this approach of healing systemically snowballed his interest in the field of psychology, and he now specializes in family/systemic therapy, hypnotherapy, and has become an expert in the utilization of mindfulness self-care practices.
Through this work, Dr. Farin also became skilled at guiding his clients in their own exploration of healing and in finding the appropriate balance of integrative interventions.
He has delved into the fields of plant medicines, psychedelics, alternative medicines, and natural supplements; with particular interests such as:
- Green Tea
- Natural Herbs
- Medicinal Cannabis
- Medicinal Ayahuasca
- Medicinal and Psychoactive mushrooms
- Kombucha
- Ketamine
- Cacti
- Amino Acids
- and more
At Mindful Psychedelics, we have found that today more than ever, clients want to explore a wide range of treatments. And although we are not able to prescribe psychedelic and plant medicine treatments, or encourage any illegal activities— in our space, you can feel comfortable talking with us about any of the areas mentioned above.
From both our firsthand experiences of taking part in legal psychedelic treatments, and legal plant medicine healing ceremonies, we are able to provide an environment where individuals can share with professionals who are knowledgeable and open to these subjects. You can feel confident that we understand the possibilities of utilizing these medicines.
As the alternative medicine fields continue to expand, please know that we will be staying up to speed and will always be ready and excited to engage in conversations about your specific interests.
NOTE: Dr. Farin’s interest in supplements increasingly grew, until he eventually created his own natural supplement formula aimed at enhancing an overall sense of well being, while generating a sustainable energy throughout the day. His BLOOM and NEW BLOOM supplement formulas contain a variety of amino acids, organic matcha green tea, and organic medicinal mushrooms. Feel free to inquire about the BLOOM supplements.
