Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) Treatments in Florida
“Ketamine journeys can be healing of trauma and depression, transformative of mind and heart, lessen the tension of ego and attachment, and enlighten and support connection and love.”
— Phil Wolfson, M.D.
Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) combines the administration of ketamine with psychotherapeutic support by our licensed facilitators. KAP aims to enhance the therapeutic process, particularly for conditions like depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The psychotherapeutic component helps individuals navigate and process their experiences during the altered state induced by ketamine, potentially leading to therapeutic breakthroughs. Qualified and experienced practitioners like ourselves must administer KAP.
Our licensed practitioners evaluate clients through screening to determine whether they qualify for this treatment safely. The screening process includes various psychological, emotional, and systemic angles, assessed to ensure harm reduction and the best outcomes. If deemed appropriate, we will refer the client to one of the medical doctors that we work closely with for another consultation. At this consultation, the medical doctor will also determine all mental, physiological, and emotional considerations to ensure ketamine can be a safe and appropriate option. If all goes well, the client will receive a prescription for ketamine from a specialized pharmacy.
Clients will then schedule a guided facilitated KAP session with one of our facilitators in our office. On the day of their session, the client will bring in their legal ketamine prescribed by their medical doctor to our office. We do not prescribe nor provide ketamine or any other psychedelics or medicines. Clients will already have signed a waiver at initial intake, understanding this and everything else we have outlined regarding safety, harm reduction, and responsible use cases.
It is essential to understand that we are not a ketamine clinic. We are a psychotherapy practice that specializes in a variety of therapy modalities, including psychedelic integration therapy. Given that ketamine is currently legal in our state, for this particular medicine, we cannot only prepare our clients before the KAP session and help them integrate their insights and experiences afterward, but we can also facilitate/guide them during the process.
We do not rush into the KAP sessions. We carefully work through our Mindful Psychedelics Integration Method (MPIM)™ [Patent Pending] and therapy process before even considering a KAP session. So, the best clients for us are clients who are fully committed to this type of therapeutic process. Our outcomes have been remarkable, and the client’s dedication and willingness to grow, learn, do the work, and heal is of utmost importance. Our rapport with our clients is at the heart and soul of everything we do, and our office environment is unique and conducive to the best healing outcomes.
